Succession Planning
Let’s face it, you, as a business owner will ultimately leave your business. Your business probably represents one of your most significant assets. If you are committed to your business and your employees, as most business owners are, transferring your business is one of the most significant events in your life. So you really should plan for it.
Succession Planning involves advance planning for how you, as a business owner, will transfer ownership of your business.
Succession planning starts with a conversation. It involves an evaluation of where you are now, what your goals are, and how to bridge the gap. It includes consideration of the universe of potential buyers and the most likely buyer and structure to meet your objectives. Upon completion, and with participation of your other professionals, it provides a plan and action steps to prepare for the ultimate event.
We are also members of the Succession & Exit Planning Leadership Roundtable, a group of professionals committed to helping business owners plan and execute the successful transition of their business to future owners. Our group includes accountants, lawyers, business brokers and financial planners who meet regularly to enhance our knowledge and depth of experience in the field and to foster a multi-disciplined team approach to best serve our clients.
The Roundtable gives us access to a wealth of knowledge and experience and a group of committed professionals to supplement the team, as needed.
Our succession planning practice also includes the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives for individuals.
