Krista P. Harper
Krista@HarperBusinessLaw.com
Krista has been a business and real estate lawyer for the past thirty years. She has a great depth and breadth of knowledge regarding the legal issues affecting businesses. She gained that experience as an associate with a prominent Washington DC and a Philadelphia regional firm, as in house counsel representing the interest of failed financial institutions, as a summer associate with the largest law firm in Mexico, and for the majority of her career with some of Bucks County’s largest and most well respected law firms.
She started Harper Business Law to provide high quality legal services to businesses.
Krista represents clients in the purchase and sale of businesses.
She represents land owners in the purchase, sale, and development of real estate, and in the formation and transition of condominiums.
She represents borrowers and banks in loan transactions.
Krista brainstorms with clients to structure new business ventures with a view towards success. She helps co-owners establish and document effective business relationships.
Krista counsels clients in planning for the end game. That can include planning for the sale of a business to a third party and performing preliminary due diligence in an effort to maximize the value upon a sale. It might also include family business planning if the owner’s ultimate goal is to sell or gift their business to family members.
Krista acts as general counsel to businesses. She drafts and reviews a variety of contracts. She responds to routine inquiries regarding collection of debt, employment, and other issues. She learns about the key drivers of the businesses’ success and then focuses the legal efforts on the priorities. She helps manage all of her clients’ legal needs to assure that the clients’ goals are met, and that business risks are mitigated in an efficient manner.
In December 2011, Ms. Harper was listed in SmartCEO Magazine as one of its Legal Elite.
Prior to attending law school, Krista was a commercial lender for a large regional bank.
Please see the Business, Real Estate and Succession Planning practice pages for a more detailed list of Krista’s experience in these areas of the law.
